Drawn to the LIght

Here I am in 1956, I was four years old

I still have a fascination with Christmas trees!! I'm drawn to the lights and sparkly ornaments. However, it's more than that, I'm sure. I'm drawn to The Light. I'm so grateful for my Savior. I'm grateful He was born to earth as a baby, just like us. I'm grateful for His love and sacrifice for me...and for you. It is just amazing, that kind of love.

May you feel the Savior's love this Christmas and always.

Waiting

Today is the day!! The day, the doctors gave as the "due date" for our new little grandson!! We are anxiously awaiting his birth. Little Aiden's mom and dad are ready for him. They want to hold him on the outside now and count his little fingers and toes and caress his soft skin, and reach out for him to grab their finger. They want to be a family!! His extended family is waiting anxiously too!! Will he look like Amy or John?? Or a combination of both!!

His daddy, John was born exactly on his due date. December 26th. Hopefully, Aiden will do the same thing!! They could start a family tradition. One that his mommy will like because, mommies don't like to be over due!! Besides, if he is born today he will share a birthday with his cousin Leah!! Now that could be fun!!

Please come baby! Come, be healthy and happy and loved!!

The Windows of Heaven

Last night we went to tithing settlement, to declare to our Bishop our tithing status. What a blessing and privilege it has been in our life to pay a full tithing every year!! When we joined The Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints, tithing was one of the more difficult concepts for us. Mainly, because we were living from pay check to pay check with nothing left over. So, to pay ten percent of our income to the Lord definitely took a leap of faith!! We have seen miracles happen in regards to paying tithing. Somehow the Lord always provided for our needs, even when we didn't have enough money to cover the bills, we would receive an unexpected check in the mail. I still haven't figured out how it works, I just know when we pay our tithing we have more money, then if we didn't pay tithing. We have definitely been very very blessed.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
