My Faith

When I was a little girl my family never ever attended church together.  Both parents were raised in the Catholic Church but fell away.  I am grateful for those Catholic teachings which filtered down in small ways and help me as I searched for answers when I was young.

I remember as a little girl laying in my bed at night trying to figure out where I came from, why I was here, and where I would go after this life. To me, it seemed there should be a circle, and I would go back to where I came from.

I would attend various churches with friends when I was young.  And came to look to Jesus Christ as my Savior.

Still, my questions were never truly answered about why I was here, where I came from and where would I go when I left this earth.  I prayed every night and felt the comfort of the Holy Ghost at times when I was scared.

When we were just starting our family some 35 years ago, I had a strong desire to teach my children about God.  We were introduced to the missionaries through a sister-in-law and brother-in-law who were members.

The missionaries answered those questions for me. Not through their eloquent speech, for they were very inarticulate. But, by the Spirit, I began to understand where I came from, why I was here, where I was going to. It felt familiar and right to me. It means everything to have a purpose in life.

I know I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and that He loves me.  He has sent me down to earth to learn to become more like Him.  I have felt His sweet spirit in my life and He has answered my prayers.  Heavenly Father has not left me here on earth without guidance.

I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer.  I look to Him as my Exemplar, He is my Shepherd.  He helps to guide me through this life.

I know the Book Mormon is the word of God.  As I have read the book numerous time I continue to feel the truthfulness of the words, through the Holy Ghost.

I know that we have prophets here to guide us in these latter-days.  Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today, his words guide me in this life also.

The Gospel has brought peace to my life.  It is my wish for everyone.

I appreciate your comments on your blog...imagine my surprise when I check out your blog and you have an SB child, AND you're LDS. I am also a convert, and I truly believe that God put me on this path with the gospel so I could better care for this boy and my family.

Thanks for reaching out to me!
