52 Blessing Project - Week Thirty

FAMILY

Look how young were all were in 1992

Mike and I have been blessed to raise a wonderful family. Strong family is a part of Heavenly Father's plan for his children. I love "The Family, A Proclamation to the World", which says in part

"The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners."

I feel like our family has lived these values and it has help to make us strong. In our society, especially in California, the traditional family is coming under attack. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is joining with other churches to pass Proposition 8. This proposition in its entirety says

"Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid and recognized in California."

I truly hope this proposition passes. I wish for people to live in strong families, it is such an incredible blessing.

It's because we were all such wonderful siblings to him.

Anyway, I really hope the proposition passes.

The world will become too scary if it doesn't.

gee that picture looks familiar. Actually it is on the table in my living room. Gee and I remember making that burgundy dress. My the years have flown by. In 1992 David was 16, April 14, John 12, Katie 10, Rachel 8 and Evan 5. Those are my guesses and I am sticking to it.
