PHONE CALLS

Some phone calls are good and some phone calls are not so good.

Yesterday, Andrew called with the great news that he had just lost his very first baby tooth!! Woo Hoo!! How exciting is that? And, what's more exciting is that, his Grandma, was the first person he thought of to share the news. I know, I'm special!!! I feel special!! Andrew calls me a lot and I love it!!

Well, I didn't feel very special this morning. Actually, I'm the one that made the poor choice to call my poor daughter at almost 6 am in the morning. I'm sure she didn't love my phone call. I do have an excuse though, for what it is worth. I forgot that Arizona is NOT on daylight savings time and that right now, we are on the same time. I also forgot that the school she teaches at gets a Fall break. That is unheard of in California! I was just hoping to talk to her before she left for school, but instead I woke up both her and her husband, on a vacation day. Oh, my!!

Why do we have daylight savings time anyway?? Do you now how much a dislike day light savings time. Oh, sorry, I digress. Anyway, ten lashes with a wet noodle for me, I guess. Sorry, Rachel!! At least I was calling with good news, I'm going to visit during the dance festival, it will be great to watch you Joey and dance!! I am sure I will love it!!

I wish California would get rid of daylight savings time, too. It drives me crazy.

I LOVE daylight savings time. I wish they would never go back to the old darkness-early time. Am I a minority here? Winter is long enough without the night creeping in earlier. Maybe this is because I'm an owl, not a lark.

By the way, that wasn't a photo of my Dad but of the accordian player at Ottavio's restaurant. His wife has a blog: Cottage in the Country http://cottageinthecountry.blogspot.com/ It's pretty fun, from the music on down.

When is the dance festival? Are you driving? If you are, my house is the halfway point!

Hi Lynne, you are NOT a minority. I am a "lark", however I don't care really if it is day light savings time or not, I just don't want it to change. It's the changing that confuses me.

Katie, the dance festival is November 15th. And I'm flying, leaving Friday afternoon and coming home Monday morning. Are you going to be there too??

I love you mom, I forgive you for calling me that early. When the phone rang and I heard it was you at first I thought it must be an emergency for you to call so early. SO I was actually relieved when it was just about the dance festival.
By the way I love not having to switch times. We get enough sun in AZ.

Just get rid of California's government and we will all be much happier. Oh, and get rid of all the tree huggers while you're at it. I know there's another group of people who need to go but I can't remember what it is at this moment.

Dp you mean it depends on the state for the daylight saving time? So strange not to unify the entire country. I undertsand you can make a mistake!

My older daughter had this telephone toy! and her little brother doesn't even now how that kind of telephone works! technology changes so quickly that in about 10 years, telephone had no longer lead, no dial either. This generation only knows cellphones.
